The Major Fields of Engineering

Engineering, the field of education most sought after, has 6 major branches. Out of these, the 4 most sought after are Mechanical, Civil, Electrical and Chemical. In order to choose from the six, it is first mandatory to know these branches and the doors that it opens for you.

The Four branches of engineering are:

1.Mechanical

2.Civil

3.Electrical

4.Chemical

Mechanical Engineering:

It is the discipline that applies to engineering physics and mathematics and deals with the manufacturing, production, designing, analyzing and maintaining mechanical systems. The major subjects that are excelled in this subject are applied mechanics, thermodynamics, heat transfer, fluid mechanics, etc. It is one of the oldest disciplines in the field of engineering. Some words associated with Metallurgical, Aerospace and Civil engineering. Biomechanics, Bio-nanotechnology, Biomechanics are the doors that are open for mechanical engineers after their formula education is completed.

Civil Engineering

it is the discipline that applies to the designing construction and maintenance of physically built environment such as bridges, canes, roads, transport routes, etc. It includes maintaining and supervising infrastructure and the facilities that make a life more convenient and modern such as railways, subways, schools, hospitals, buildings, sewage systems, etc. it opens up feels like construction engineering, geotechnical engineering, bridge engineering, land development, transportation engineering, etc.

Electrical Engineering

What is concerned with the application study of electricity, electronics and electromagnetism and the application of devices and systems associated with the same. The main subjects taught in this field of engineering include electromagnetics, power engineering, electrical machines and telecommunication. With the booming field of electronics this branch of engineering opens up the door to develop and sustain all the electric technology in the fields of military, industry as well as daily life.

Chemical Engineering

it uses the principles developed in foundation sciences such as chemistry, physics, biology, mathematics and economics to reduce and transform energy and materials. It is applicable in the medical industry the nuclear industry as well as in our daily life. Nuclear engineering, biological engineering and chemical reaction engineering are some of its main subjects.
