The fellowship is meant to boost awareness and interest in high-quality academic research among young engineering, management, sciences and humanities students through a goal-oriented summer mini-project undertaken at IIT Madras.
A ‘Summer Fellowship Programme’ is being organized by Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras from this year for the non-IIT-ians. Apart from IITs, students across the country can apply for this fellowship. The IIT Madras – Summer Fellowship Programme is of 60 days duration with a stipend of Rs.6000 during this period. IIT Madras has come up with this fellowship to increase consciousness and interest in excellent academic research among the management, humanities, science and engineering youths by way of a goal-oriented summer small project taken up at IIT Madras. The students can submit their online application till 29th February 2020. Aspirants studying in the 3rd year of Bachelor of Engineering/Technology/Science (Engineering) or candidates who are in the 3rd or 4th year of Integrated Master of Engineering/Technology programme, 1st year of Master of Engineering/Technology/Science/Arts, Master of Business Administration with exceptional scholastic records in terms of peak results in university examinations can enrol for this. This Summer Fellowship Programme will start from 20 May till 19 July 2020. Under this fellowship, IIT Madras has included some of their departments like aerospace engineering, applied mechanics, chemical engineering, civil engineering, biotechnology, among others.
