Part time MBA VS Full time MBA in India

A Master’s degree in Business Administration (MBA) can boost your corporate dreams, double your salary, fasten your promotion or can help you become an entrepreneur. An MBA also fills you up with leadership attributes, qualities and perspective that is of global level directed by global visions and endless opportunities.

An MBA comes with two route options that are part-time or full-time MBA programme. To decide which route you should opt for when pursuing an MBA, though both options give you a degree in hand, but it is important that you are aware of their pros and cons.

What is a part-time MBA?

The part-time MBA programme is designed into two parts:

 

a) The Executive MBA

It is better suitable for aspirants with years of work experience. Though age is not a limitation to this degree, executive MBA generally is of one year, with focusing in-depth on general networking based on past job role with modified leadership roles. The major factor associated with this MBA degree is that it is expensive to pursue an executive MBA. There is less number of good B-SCHOOL which can promise you to provide higher salary than what you are earning on your present job position. The degree is technically driven, does not involve students interactions with general management.

 

b) Online Part-time MBA for employees who work full-time and don’t yet hold leadership positions. The aspirants are full time working employees who are expected to take classes after working hours.

Pros: you will be earning and learning at the same time. However, it is less competitive than the full-time programme and can take longer than two or three years to complete. Online MBA programs are flexible and convenient in terms of schedules. However, it can cause less of a financial burden than attending a full-time MBA programme, because students can maintain a job while pursuing an MBA and do not have to look for a job. 

Cons:  The main challenge is to balance work and studies, after the hectic day at the office still being all alert to absorbs case study. It requires self-motivation and lot of effort than full-time programs. 

Working professionals who want to enhance their existing career path can choose a part-time MBA program in order to remain employed while studying.

 

What is Full time MBA:

Dedicating 24 hours to MBA b-school a full-time MBA is comparatively most ideal for fresh graduates who can afford to delay working, but they can expect to land higher-ranking jobs than those without an MBA. Students are expected to live near campus and regularly be present for classes. The workload and interactions at the global level are much higher than any other MBA programme. It is easier to get financial aid or scholarships. 

Receiving an MBA helps you advance your career and earn promotions or raise pay due to the level of achievement and knowledge this degree offers. Deciding between a full-time or a part-time MBA program is just like weighing the costs and benefits each option has to offer. However, the choice is yours.
